PRODUCT REVIEW: GOOD SCIENCE BEAUTY 001-PU PURIFYING FACE MASK – BEST CLAY MASK, BEST MASK FOR OILY SKIN, BEST CLEANSING MASK

GOOD SCIENCE BEAUTY | 001-PU PURIFYING FACE MASK

IMG_0979.JPG

I had fun yesterday with a damn good purifying clay mask and my first brush with a dry brush (pun intended!). If you missed my #selfcaresunday sesh, you can still check it out on my IGTV channel here.

I first discovered Good Science Beauty about three years ago, soon after the band launched. From the get-go, I was intrigued by the brand’s innovative delivery technology — one that drives skincare actives deeper into the skin barrier where they can be even more effective.

Good Science Beauty calls it Good Silicon+, a “patented carrier technology based on Silicon, a natural element. Good Silicon+ is designed to make skincare ingredients more effective by protecting them from degradation, boosting their skin absorption, and by releasing them over time.”

And for #selfcaresunday I had a choice between GSB’s two fantastic masks — one a purifying clay mask, the other a deeply hydrating mask. Since it’s been so damp here lately, and no where near as dry as it normally would be in the middle of December, I opted for the 001-Pu Purifying Face Mask.

Purifying Face Mask has got a thick creamy texture that’s derived from the high concentration of white kaolin clay in the formula — at ingredient number three.

The Purifying Face Mask is not a conventional dry clay mask, which I’m no fan of. I like my clay masks to stay wet, rather than drying own and absorbing all of my skin’s vital oils. The inclusion of Shea Butter and Sunflower Seed Oil keep the mask moist on the skin.

The two star actives, which benefit from the Good Silicon+ technology, are Niacinmaoide and Willow Bark Extract — both of which help to de-clog and purify pores to freshen up the complexion.

The 001-Pu Purifying Face Mask is a good, clean clay mask that left my complexion bright and clear, not dry and parched. Hey, Good Science Beauty, it’s nice to have you back in my healthy skin rotation…
