SKINCARMA X ANTONIO JEFFERSON STUDIO COLLAB: BEST FACIAL SKINCARE FROM THE INKEY LIST, THE ORDINARY, BEAUTYSTAT AND MORE!
Over the last two months, I’ve been hard at work pulling together the dopest Skincarma collab yet.
A few weeks ago, I first collaborated with my good friend and photographer, Antonio Jefferson, on a series of product shots that took the blog to the next level. As Antonio and I were working on the product imagery for Skincarma, we were also beginning a second collaboration at his photography studio in the Bronx — Antonio Jefferson Studio. In addition to his photography business, Antonio also has a dope clothing range and he was planning his first ever sample sale.
We decided Skincarma needed to be a part of it somehow and imagined how cool it would be to pull together some of the best facial skincare products from my favorite brands — for a summer skincare collection. Knowing these things take time, I started reaching out to brands immediately.
It’s pride month here in New York City and this year, pride has expanded to represent the broader movement on diversity, civil rights and equality. That includes the movement for criminal justice and supporting Black-owned businesses.
I hit up my contacts at ten brands that I thought would be interested in our collaboration – and the celebration of diversity. Among them were BeautyStat, The Inkey List, The Ordinary, Wander Beauty, Schaf Skincare, SELF/ish, Iconic London, Jaxon Lane, Biography and Balm Labs — the 2020 Skincarma Product of the Year.
COLLAB WITH ANTONIO JEFFERSON STUDIO: NEW VITAMIN C SERUMS I’M CRUSHING ON FROM WANDER BEAUTY, GLOSSIER, KAT BURKI & MORE
Not a single brand declined.
In fact, most of the brands went all out and shipped me double the quantities (or more!) of the product that I had asked for. We pulled it all together in a co-branded dopp kit of Skincarma Summer Essentials. The products included what I consider one of the best Vitamin C serums, the best face cleanser, the best adult acne treatment and the best exfoliating serum.
Combined, the swag bag was valued at about $300 and gifted to the first 30 customers at the pop up sale.
