I first posted a glimpse of Clarins new Double Serum Eye on #skincarmasaturday two months ago when I share a peek at my skincare discoveries over the previous week.

At the time, I had just gotten my hands (or eyes!) on Clarins Double Serum Eye. Over the last several weeks, I’ve been pampering my eye area with this silky treat a few times a week.

It had been a minute since I’d experienced Clarins — though it was one of my favorite brands back in my days as the cosmetics department manager at Barneys NY in Beverly Hills. Jeez that was a long, long time ago! I don’t recall many product faves from those days aside from Kiehl’s, but I do remember being really fond of Clarins Eau Dynamisante.

The Clarins Double Serum Eye formula is inspired by the brand’s iconic Double Serum anti-aging treatment, combining two unique plant-powered serums — one in a water base, the other in an oil base.

Phase one is an ultra-light cream, phase two a smooth, silky fluid. The two are combined for easy application when pumped on the back of your hand, creating a luxurious treatment that feels like heaven around your eyes.

The texture is literally everything!

Clarins Double Serum Eye is an antioxidant powerhouse with Caffeine, Turmeric Root Extract and multiple botanical extracts. It’s classic Clarins. There’s also Oat Kernel Extract, which I love for soothing the delicate skin around the eyes. IMO you can never have enough soothing antioxidants in an eye cream.

For moisture, there’s bio-compatible Squalane at ingredient number four, a relatively high concentration. Funny, though, I find myself wanting to layer a more conventional eye cream over it, which is really the point of a serum, right?! (See the full INCI below.)

I gotta say I haven’t loved using an eye treatment as much as Double Serum Eye in a while.

What I like about it: The Clarins Double Serum Eye is such a luxurious, pampering eye treatment I’m scared to waste it. I love how smooth, silky and supremely layer-able it is — and how quickly it absorbs into the thin skin around the eyes. I also really appreciate the soothing, antioxidant botanicals in the formula.

What I don’t like about it: It’s so expensive. At $79 for .68 oz/ 20 mL, it’s easily used up before you see any tangible results beyond a smoother looking eye area. That’s all I was expecting, though.
